Multilingual Language Assessment for Underprivileged Children in India:  design, development and implementation (MultiLAUCI)

Project introduction

This research project begins in July 2023.  It aims is to design, develop and implement a pilot set of multilingual classroom assessment tools which, when tested and validated, could be expanded for use to other languages in government schools in India and other regions of the Global South. In particular, it aims to design multilingual assessment materials that a) complement the multilingual oral pedagogical practices proposed by the intervention, b) could be administered to the whole class or to individual learners and c) have the potential of providing the framework for further dissemination through education technology on a large scale.  The assessment materials will be presented to the government officials and other stakeholders in a workshop in Hyderabad in September 2023.
