Multilingual Oral Dynamic Assessment for underprivileged primary school children in India (MultiOrDyn)
Project introduction
This research project aims to design, pilot and promote to stakeholders a multilingual oral formative assessment instrument of language and content for fourth and fifth graders in the English as a medium instruction (EMI) classrooms in Hyderabad. The ultimate goal of this project is to move away from traditional forms of assessment imposed by Western societies on a primarily oral culture that survives in the skills of underprivileged learners. In the long run, it aims to implement the multilingual oral formative assessment instrument (and the classroom-based assessment) through education technology on a large scale across India. This project begins in September 2023 and will be completed in May 2024.
